Round compotier on pedestal of shape "Coupe" with burnished gold decoration in the center of trellises, the wing with blue ground and gold highlights in the imitation of lapis lazuli.

Service called "fond lapis corbeilles de fleurs", it appeared in the registers of the Manufacture in 1819 under the name "service no.12 Lapis corbeilles de fleurs". On November 10, 1820, the sales register lists 99 plates, 10 bowls, 2 ice buckets, 4 compotiers, 2 sugar bowls and their tray, and 2 Jasmin baskets. Other pieces are added progressively, then assembled to be delivered to "M le Vicomte de Chateaubriand, Ambassador of France in England", successively on April 15, 1822, May 2, 1822 and then August 21, 1823. The latter delivery took place after Chateaubriand's departure from London, indicating that this service was a personal rather than an official gift.
