Presumed portrait of Livia, wife of Augustus

Important carved marble head of a woman, possibly representing the Empress Livia (Diva Iulia Augusta, 58 BC-29 AD), second wife of the Emperor Augustus, from the front.

Her characteristic hairstyle is composed of long wavy locks separated by a middle part, it is covered with the palla.
