With a lapish-blue ground enhanced with gold friezes and motifs, the cup has a central decoration of a polychrome portrait in medallion of Abbé Bossuet, depicted as a bust after the portrait of Hyacinthe Rigaud painted in 1702 (Musée du Louvre).

Very good condition, a chip on the back of the saucer.

Royal Manufacture of Sèvres, Louis XVIII period, circa 1815.

Decoration mark dated September 29th 1815.

H. 7,5 x D. 16 cm.

Provenance

This cup was decorated by Mme Dalu, figurist painter in Sèvres.

It was bought 125 francs by Mr. Hattiwele on 23 July 1818 (Arch. Sèvres, Vz3, 123 v°).
