Crystal service composed of a carafe and its stopper, a water glass and a finger rinser, engraved with his cipher RO with the France children's crown, decorated with gold rims.

Good condition, slight wear on the gold.

French work circa 1875.

H. 22 cm (carafe) - H. 12.7 cm (water glass) - H. 7.2 x D. 12.6 cm (finger rinse).

History

Robert d’Orléans, petit-fils du roi Louis-Philippe, participa notamment à la guerre de Sécession des Etats-Unis d’Amérique. Très proche de son oncle, le Duc d’Aumale, il partagea la fin de sa vie entre Paris et le château de Vineuil-Saint-Firmin qui faisait partie du Domaine de Chantilly.

Robert of Orléans, grandson of King Louis-Philippe, notably participated in the American Civil War. Very close to his uncle, the Duke of Aumale, he shared the end of his life between Paris and the Château de Vineuil-Saint-Firmin which was part of the Domaine de Chantilly.
