History

The Strasbourg artist J. Georges Baltz (1760-1831) was a miniature and enamel painter while also being appreciated for his oil landscapes. The Bernard Franck collection contained a portrait of Louis XVIII in enamel dated 1815 from him. Our cup is a rare example of a painting by the artist on porcelain.
